why sign the objector registry?

To assert your moral opposition to war, regardless of your age, gender, or religious affiliation.

To create a record of beliefs and actions in case of forced conscription, especially if you’ve been–or will be–forced to register for the draft with the US Selective Service.

The Objector Church offers free self registration as well as personalized, notarized, and/or mailed certificate options. Every young man living in the US, age 18 through 25, is required by law to register for a future draft. This requirement may include women soon. The Objector Registry is an important step in documenting objection to war.

An Introduction

The Objector Church is a different kind of spiritual community, one that is rooted in the principles of peace and religious humanism.

courage to resist

Courage to Resist is a fiscally sponsored project of the Objector Church

Courage to Resist supports the troops who refuse to fight, or who face consequences for acting on conscience, in opposition to illegal wars, occupations, the policies of empire abroad and martial law at home. Our People Power strategy weakens the pillars that perpetuate these causes of immense violence. By supporting military resistance, counter-recruitment, and draft resistance, we intend to cut off the supply of troops for war, while pledging resistance to the policies of hate, repression, and the militarization of policing domestically. We are autonomous from and independent of any political organization or party.

The Objector Church welcomes you

We’re rooted in the crystallization of human consciousness, manifesting in the rejection of war and militarism, and the embrace of peace and justice.

Our church embraces the historic legacy of religious humanism. Generally speaking, we are a non-superstitious community who embrace ethical humanism as our religion, integrating humanist ethical philosophy with congregational rituals centered on the betterment of humanity.

Ministers

Church elders have been trained in spiritual guidance, mentorship, and the secular laws of Conscientious Objection as they relate to our ministry.
